National Apprenticeship Awareness Workshop Enlightens Godda Youth

In an effort to foster
apprenticeship training and bolster awareness about the apprenticeship scheme,
the Regional Directorate of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, in
collaboration with the Directorate of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship,
organized a one-day National Apprenticeship Awareness Workshop at the Adani
Power Plant premises in Godda.
The workshop witnessed enthusiastic participation from representatives
of more than 15
Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs) spanning five districts, local
industries, and students eager to delve into the realms of apprenticeship.
The event, held in the auditorium at Adani Power Plant, commenced with
the ceremonial lighting of the lamp by distinguished guests, including Chief
Guest Godda-DFO Maun Prakash, Regional Director of Jharkhand Skill Development
and Entrepreneurship Directorate BK Singha, Deputy Director PK Mandvi,
Assistant Director Shri Himanshu, Plant Head of Adani Power Prasun Chakraborty,
and Employment Officer of Godda Padma Kumari.
Addressing the attendees, Mr. Singha, the Regional Director,
highlighted the significance of such workshops in creating awareness among
establishments regarding training opportunities and benefits available under
the National Apprenticeship Promotion Scheme (NAPS).
These workshops are part of a nationwide initiative guided by the
Central Government, with the Directorate of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship
overseeing their implementation. The Godda workshop marks the sixth in a series
of seven "Apprenticeship Awareness Workshops" scheduled across
Jharkhand.
Chief Guest Shri Maun Prakash praised the organizers for selecting
Godda as the venue and emphasized the need for more such programs to promote
skills and cater to the demand for a qualified workforce in industries.
Plant Head of Adani Power, Prasun Chakraborty, advised the youth to
continually update their knowledge base and acquire modern skill sets in line
with current technological trends. He highlighted that, in adherence to
government guidelines, the Godda Power Plant has been providing employment
based on locality and recently selected over 40 youths for apprenticeship
training.
In his concluding remarks, Shri Mandvi, Deputy Director of the
Directorate of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, underscored the Prime
Minister's focus on skill development programs and expressed the commitment to
promoting effective and efficient skill development training for the nation's
youth.
The workshop served as a valuable platform for participants to gain insights into apprenticeship opportunities and contributed to the broader goal of skill development and employment generation.
