Dog Daddy' Leads the Mission to Heal Abused Animals: House of Stray Animals Needs Your Help
New Delhi, 25th November 2024:
Every day, the House of Stray Animals in New Delhi answers over 100 rescue calls, saving dogs, cows, donkeys, and birds from unimaginable cruelty. Founded by Sanjay Mohaptra, affectionately known as "Dog Daddy," the shelter provides a safe haven for abused and abandoned animals. But with 700 animals to feed daily and rising medical expenses, the shelter needs your help to continue its life-saving mission.
“Every animal we rescue has a story of pain and survival. I’ll never forget Moti, a dog we found with his jaw shattered into 25 pieces. Someone had brutally attacked him and left him to die. Unfortunately, Moti’s story is not unique. Over the years, I’ve encountered heartbreaking cases—animals burned with acid, scalded with hot water, and subjected to appalling cruelty,” shared Sanjay Mohaptra.
The shelter currently operates 24/7 to provide medical care, food, and love to dogs, cows, donkeys, birds, and other animals. However, the growing number of rescue calls—exceeding 100 each day—has pushed its resources to the brink.
“We’ve seen donkeys forced to climb 50 flights of stairs carrying heavy loads, only to be cruelly pushed down when they collapse. Despite witnessing such brutality, we strive to show these voiceless beings that not all humans are the same,” Mohaptra added.
The shelter’s mission is primarily funded by Sanjay Mohaptra’s catering business, but the overwhelming demand for rescue and rehabilitation efforts now requires additional support. Contributions made through the Milaap crowdfunding campaign will go directly toward food, medical care, and shelter for these animals.
By donating to their Milaap campaign, you can provide food, medical care, and shelter for animals like Moti, a brave survivor who overcame a shattered jaw after a brutal attack. Join us in giving these voiceless souls a second chance at life.
